What if I got a regular mask and now I need a full face mask…

Will my insurance pay for it? What are the requirements?
Usually most insurances will pay for a full face mask (A7030) even after they have bought you a standard mask (A7034) IF you have tried a chin strap or some other device to help keep your mouth closed and that also failed. Most people can use a chin strap for a few weeks to a few months and it trains that jaw muscle to stay closed.
Some folks however, even that doesn’t work to keep the mouth closed and they have no choice but to go to the full face mask.
Fisher & Paykel has a full face mask Flexi-Fit 431 & Flexi-Fit 432) that has a unique feature where it actually goes under your chin to further assist you with keeping your mouth closed. Personally I like Fisher & Paykel’s whole line of masks. They are great for people that move a lot in their sleep.
I hope this helps answer this question, please feel free to post comments on any of the articles for more information. I worked in the industry for several years and worked through a lot of billing issues. I know most of the ways to ensure compliance and insurance coverage for what is necessary.
